ABOUT US

Promoting European
pork and poultry in China

"European Pork & Poultry – Quality Meat, Happy People" campaign serves as a introduction of Finnish meat products and, at the same time, a cultural exchange connecting Europe and China through the universal language of food. Supported by the REA*-funded initiative, this program embodies our belief in the power of quality meat to enrich lives.

We are advocating a lifestyle
where quality, health, and happiness meet.

Quality Meat -
Happy People

Quality Meat -
Happy People

Inspired by the Finnish motto “Good taste comes from a healthy animal”, we go a step further to showcase the connection between the quality meat from Finland and a happy lifestyle. Through interactive and educational activities, we invite our audience to explore the rich heritage and quality of our offerings and Finnish culture that values quality meat as a cornerstone of a happy, healthy life.

The journey in China is marked by our efforts to deepen relationships with consumers and partners in both online and offline events, raise awareness of high-quality European pork and poultry from Finland, and introduce the expertise and advantages of safe and delicious Finnish pork and poultry to Chinese consumers. With media event and press office as the kick-off action of the program, the all-round promotion activities include online communication through official social media accounts and a series of offline events of professional workshops and trade fair participation targeting at Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, and Zhengzhou.

Implemented by Ruokatieto

Ruokatieto Yhdistys ry, Finfood - Finnish Food Information, is an association that promotes Finnish food culture by communicating about food and the food production chain, and by distributing information on the Hyvää Suomesta – Produce of Finland label, that is used as the certificate for Finnish food products.

Founded in 1958, the association has around 350 members representing the whole Finnish food sector. Our goal is to raise the appreciation and sales of Finnish food, spread food related information and expertise and strengthen the competitive advantage of the Finnish food production chain.

Our major channel for food information is www.ruokatieto.fi. It reveals the journey taken by food from field to table, introduces the richness of Finnish food culture, and offers food education materials to educators on all levels. The food education section includes popular study materials used in schools by teachers and pupils, as well as by consumers with an interest in food. Study materials are available for all levels of education ranging from preschool to university. An information package focused on matters such as responsibility and ethical production was released in 2012 and is still used by hundreds of schools each year.

The Hyvää Suomesta – Produce of Finland label is a designation of origin for Finnish packaged foods. The label is voluntary and may be used by Finnish food industry companies that manufacture their products in Finland using Finnish ingredients. Further information can be found at www.hyvaasuomesta.fi (in brief in Swedish, English and Russian).
